5 Great Ways to Enjoy Your Memorial Day Weekend
Memorial Day Weekend is here! Just in case you are searching for a few fun things to do over this 3-day holiday weekend, The Cottonwood Cove has a few great suggestions for you.
Picnic
This is the time of year when it's a joy to fire up the grill and dine outside. The outdoor areas of The Cottonwood Cove members at our RV Resort & Marina in Nebraska each have their own look and style, most of which include excellent spots to enjoy a picnic with friends and family.
Of course, if you don't feel like cooking, the Lodge has lots of outdoor seating available. Come on over and grab a seat and we'll be happy to take care of the cooking as well as the cleanup when you're done!
Explore Nature
If you are a boat or RV owner, you undoubtedly love spending time outside appreciating all that nature has to offer. The scenic beauty surrounding our vacation destination on the Missouri River (or what we lovingly like to call the "longest lake in the state!") is a nature lover's paradise. You can get a lot of sight-seeing and outdoor fun in on a regular weekend, but a 3-day holiday weekend lets you take your time and really explore.
Get on the Water
In addition to an amazing RV Resort, The Cottonwood Cove also has a fantastic 12-acre marina on the Missouri River at mile marker 651. Even if you don't have your own dock slip in the marina, you are welcome to use our 40' wide, soft slope boat ramp to get your boat into the water.
If you don't necessarily want to get "on" the water, you can still enjoy being near it. There is excellent fishing in the area, and simply sitting on the bank and watching all of the river traffic cruise by is entertaining on its own. Soon you will be able to get "in" the water of our brand new swimming pool, complete with the 2nd swim-up bar in all of Nebraska. The ton of rain we've had lately pushed back our timeline a bit on getting this finished, but work is progressing and it's coming along beautifully!
Find a Concert
When you're hanging out at The Cottonwood Cove, you don't have to look far to find the best live music in the Midwest! Our large 40' wide riverfront stage consistently hosts the most talented musicians, and for Memorial Day Weekend we've packed the concert schedule full. Thank a Veteran
The reason for Memorial Day existing at all is so that we can take the time to remember and honor all of the brave men and women who died while serving our country. If you personally know someone this pertains to, they are undoubtedly on your mind this weekend even more than usual. One way to honor the memory of those special individuals is to thank a veteran that did make it home safely.
We're looking forward to seeing lots of familiar faces at our Midwest vacation destination this Memorial Day Weekend, and we're excited to make new friends too. Come on out and spend some time with us over the holiday. You're bound to fall in love with The Cottonwood Cove, and maybe even want to join our Cottonwood family.
