Don't Miss the Halfway to T&A Party!
Once again the cold weather has set in and many of us are starting to feel that seasonal depression that sets in from not being able to see our boating family every weekend and enjoy our fun in the sun! But worry not, friends - we've got the perfect solution to wipe those winter blues away! After the huge success of the first "Halfway to T&A" party last year, we've decided it's time to do it again! So make sure to mark your calendars for January 20th and get ready to party at Cottonwood Cove! Get the details here:
WHAT IS T&A?
T&A is the big birthday bash on the Missouri River for Teresa Melies and Arlene Ehrlich. For 15 years now, T&A has been the biggest sandbar party of the summer! With Arlene's birthday being July 23rd and Teresa's on July 24th, T&A is typically celebrated on the 3rd Saturday of July. It all started in 2002 when the lovely ladies wanted to have a birthday party doing what they love most - BOATING! Year #1 was just a small gathering of about 16 friends. Since then, it has grown exponentially to about 1,000 party-goers and 300 different boats throughout the day! Talk about major growth!
Cottonwood realized what a huge, fun gathering this is for river-lovers (and FUN-lovers too) and with the help and hard work of Mick Brown, decided that it needed to be a biannual event! That's when Mick's brain child, Halfway to T&A, was born. Thank you, Teresa & Arlene for being the inspiration for this awesome idea, and thank you Mick for catapulting this epic biannual event into THE GO-TO event on the river!
LODGING OPTIONS
Rooms are available at the Super 8 in Blair for a discounted rate of 63$ per night (normally 75$) and shuttles will be running back and forth to the Marina. Power will be turned on for all those who would prefer to stay in their campers, but there will be no water. Please call and reserve your rooms as soon as possible, because they won't last long! Reference the "Cottonwood Marina Party" or Mick Brown when calling the Super 8 for group pricing at (402) 426-8888.
ENTERTAINMENT: SINNERS AND SAINTS
This year, we'll be rockin' the house with Sinners and Saints! Sinners and Saints have been rocking together since 2011. Members include John Lovings, Ron Adcock, Jack Christian, Leslie Christensen and Kaylene Christian. No strangers to the music scene, all of the members have come from other well-known bands in the Omaha area including Pranxter, Desperate Bandwives ,Shoot to Thrill, Hip to Hip, Top Secret, La Rox, Headspace and Monkey Puzzle just to name a few. Let's just say they have a lot of experience in the live local music scene.
Their influences are rooted in rock and roll from classic bands like Heart, Aerosmith and Def Leppard to current bands like Pretty Reckless, Halestorm and Shinedown. Plus they'll pull out some country and add their own rock twist to it. No matter what they play you can be sure it is going to rock!
