Carp-O-Rama 2018 is May 12 - Are You Registered Yet?
One of the perks of having an RV resort & marina on the Missouri River is the immediate access to all kinds of fun on the water. This means plenty of fishing tournaments, including the upcoming Carp-O-Rama 2018! After a full day of fishing, everyone will meet up at The Cottonwood Cove for the weigh-in, followed by a night full of delicious food, incredible drinks, and amazing live music.
The Details
The Carp-O-Rama Bowfishing Tournament will take place on Saturday, May 12 from 7 am-5pm. There will be 2 divisions this year - Lake and River. The tournament zone is Sioux City, NE to Rulo, NE. You may not go north of Ponca State Park. Teams can launch from any boat ramp in the zone, east of Hwy 75 and west of I-29 in Iowa and Nebraska.
Register Your Team
Your team must be pre-registered by Friday, May 11th at 6 pm to participate. A photo of the registration page has been shared on the Carp-O-Rama Facebook Event Page. You can email Rich Porter at bwfsh69@gmail.com to have him send you a copy of the form, or you can skip the form altogether and just send the necessary details instead. There are 2 ways to do this.
Join Us at the Lodge
After the fish are weighed and winners are decided, stick around and continue the fun with us into the evening. The Lodge at our Midwest vacation destination will be serving delicious food and tasty drinks, including our famous Watermelon, all night long.
We've also got the Charm School Dropouts scheduled to hit the stage and have you dancing the night away from 7-11 pm. Sure, the tournament followed by an exciting evening after makes for a long day, but one that will be tons of fun and an event you do not want to miss!
Don't Forget the Detour
Because of the current bridge work on 10th Street, north of Blair, you will need to take a detour to get to The Cottonwood Cove by car. Construction is scheduled to go on through June, but it should be completed by July, opening our regular route back up.
Go north from the Taco Bell on Hwy. 75 for about 2.5 Miles. Turn right on County Road P16. You will see Country Bible Church. Continue east on County Rd 16 for about 1 mile, then turn north to County Rd P31 for 0.75 of a mile, then turn back east on County Rd P14 approx. 2.25 miles to The Cottonwood Cove.

- Lake Division: Any public lake from Sioux City to Rulo between I-29 and Hwy. 75. The format for the Lake Division is total weight.
- River Division: This falls within the same space limit as the Lake Division, and teams cannot go past the south boat ramp at Ponca State Park. If a body of water is accessible from the river, then it is considered to be in the River Division. (An example of this would be Decatur Bend.) The format for this division is Big 20.
