Meet BON - The Bowfishers of Nebraska

The excellent location of our RV campground & marina on the Missouri River puts us in the perfect position to enjoy all kinds of different outdoor activities. One of these, in particular, is fishing in that river which we lovingly like to refer to as the "longest lake in the state." The Cottonwood Cove is very familiar with a group of people that specialize in this sport - The Bowfishers of Nebraska. (BON) What is BON? Bowfishing, in case you are unfamiliar with this sport, is a method of fishing that uses specialized archery equipment to shoot and retrieve fish. The fish are shot with a barbed arrow that is attached with a special line to a reel mounted on the bow. BON is made up of a wonderful group of people that are dedicated to protecting, advancing, and preserving the sport of bowfishing and its resources.
