Winter is on its way, so it's not too early to start thinking about what you need to do to keep your RV in good condition if you'll be storing it away during those cold months.  Properly storing your RV in the winter months is the best way to protect it for many more years of future adventuring. Following the basic tips that  The Cottonwood Cove  has in today's blog will help you do that.  Drain the Water Systems Any water left in the plumbing system of an RV can freeze when it gets extremely cold and break the lines and fittings. This can result in extremely pricey repairs to get it going again next spring. All of the water needs to be drained from both the fresh water and waste tanks. Pumping nontoxic RV antifreeze through the plumbing will push the water out, and your owner's manual should have instructions on how to do this. We consider our members and the wonderful people that frequent our Lodge to be family, which is a big reason we schedule lots of fun events for everyone to get together and enjoy. The Cottonwood has been around in some form since the late 1960's. It has been a HUGE name for The Cottonwood Cove of today to live up to, but with hard work and the help of all of you, we're doing it! Some things have changed over the years, but the vision of a great place for everyone who loves the outdoors, the river, boating, biking, and now camping has always been the same for our RV Resort & Marina on the Missouri River . Every person has a favorite "go-to" cocktail. If you've ever had the chance to try the signature drink at our RV resort & marina in Nebraska , there's a good chance your favorite is the Watermelon! Haven't had one yet? The Cottonwood Cove is open for our 2018 season, so now is the perfect time to discover this refreshing drink! Home of the Watermelon Way back in January of 1982, George Rybin, son of the owners of The Cottonwood Cove at the time, as well as a future owner himself, went on a Carribean cruise. He was accompanied by his then-girlfriend, Sharon Young, who worked at The Cottonwood Cove Marina.  While visiting the islands, they both fell in love with a delicious, knock-you-on-your-a$$ drink called, you guessed it, the Watermelon.
