The excellent location of our RV campground & marina on the Missouri River puts us in the perfect position to enjoy all kinds of different outdoor activities. One of these, in particular, is fishing in that river which we lovingly like to refer to as the "longest lake in the state." The Cottonwood Cove is very familiar with a group of people that specialize in this sport - The Bowfishers of Nebraska. (BON)  What is BON? Bowfishing, in case you are unfamiliar with this sport, is a method of fishing that uses specialized archery equipment to shoot and retrieve fish. The fish are shot with a barbed arrow that is attached with a special line to a reel mounted on the bow.   BON is made up of a wonderful group of people that are dedicated to protecting, advancing, and preserving the sport of bowfishing and its resources. The Cottonwood Cove closes up for the winter, but we realize that some of our RV campers like to stay on the road even after the temperatures start dropping. Hopefully, you already have your RV winterized by now, but the following tips will help to keep you warm and cozy during your winter adventures if you choose to drive toward the snow rather than away from it!  Insulate Winterizing your RV should already have taken care of filling in any cracks or holes where drafts of cold air could sneak in. There are additional ways you can keep the cold air out and the warm air in. Thermal curtains are wonderful for this, and you might consider placing a plastic film over your windows, especially if they are single-pane. Even though the 2018 season for The Cottonwood Cove Marina & RV Resort doesn't officially begin until April, we're planning to throw our very first party for St. Patrick's Day a couple of weeks before that. This isn't a small celebration either, because we're going to make it last all day long. Stop by anytime between 11 am-1 am on Saturday, March 17, 2018 , or better yet, spend the entire holiday right here with us!   Irish Food & Drinks Your favorite restaurant on the Missouri River will have our incredible pizza available all day long.
